What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is one of the most powerful non-invasive health treatments available. The modern form of reflexology practiced today is based on zone therapy (developed by Dr. William H. Fitzgerald), which demonstrates the correlation and interdependence of all parts of the body.
The body is divided into energy pathways that run from the head down to the feet and hands connecting every part and organ of the body. These energy pathways, or zones, can become blocked, or out of balance, due to circumstances such as stress, emotional trauma, accidents, lifestyle and diet etc.
How does it work?
It is when there are blockages in the system that we experience illness, both on a physical and emotional level. By massaging, with varying degrees of pressure, specific reflex points in the feet, or hands, the blockages are released and areas of imbalance can be detected.
Through regular treatments and working with combined reflexes, relaxation, balance and vigour can be restored.
Reflexology helps to achieve this by creating the right conditions for the body and mind to begin their own natural healing mechanism.
As tensions are eased and circulation and elimination improved, reflexology heals, re-balances and deeply relaxes. Yet it can also invigorate and rejuvenate.
